Sometimes after a great workout I don’t feel super hungry, but I know the importance of replenishing calories, fats, and proteins post workout. A fantastic way to get those nutrients back into the body are shakes and smoothies. Not necessarily “protein shakes” but shakes/smoothies made with whole ingredients. There are so many ways to get protein in, other than adding powdered proteins. Almond milk, regular milk, peanut butter, nuts, etc.
- 4 large kale leaves
- 1 cup almond milk, unsweetened
- 1 banana
- ½ cup cranberries, fresh
- In a blender, place all ingredients layered on top of each other
- Blend ingredients together until smooth. There may be a few pieces of kale that do not get completely broken up
This smoothie is a not super high in protein, but it is a great replenishing snack and totally vitamin packed! This smoothie is quick and easy so it is a great option for breakfast as well.
