Halloween is right around the corner! All that candy can be very tempting, but just wait till you check out these recipes…I’ve been searching for some inspiration for Halloween treats and came across these options for popular, and not so popular (but still yummy!) candy bars. Of course it requires some more work and effort than simply unwrapping your favorite fun sized bar, but you’ll save yourself a ton of calories AND STILL satisfy your cravings. Of course having ONE fun sized bar is not the end of the world…but eating 2…3…4…5… a day can be a problem :0!!!

According to USAtoday Reese’s is America’s #1 most popular candy. Making $509.85 million in sales in 2013. They are good, but you can make this yummy treat in the comfort of your home with whole healthy ingredients and only a few easy steps! Check out Tasty Yummies recipe with almond butter (paleo and vegan friendly) or The Comfort of Cooking’s recipe with peanut butter.
Twix made #6 on the USAtoday list. Both of these recipes seem really simply to make and look pretty tasty! Check them out below (click the photo for full recipe and blog post).
York Peppermint Patties were almost nowhere to be found on these “Top Halloween Candy” lists. Even though they’re one of my favorites… 🙂 I loved them as a kid and so did my sister! While most families would end up throwing them away…my sister and I would end up fighting over them! They’re so yummy.
Mounds and Almond Joys are another favorite of mine…I love coconut. Another odd candy not adored by most, but some! Stick an almond on the top center of these bars, under the chocolate, and it becomes a dark chocolate almond joy! 🙂
Tootsie Rolls, hated by dentists. These looked interesting. Not a huge tootsie fan, but I know some people who love them! How can you go wrong when its paleo and vegan friendly?!
Crunch Bars: adds a little crunch or pop to your chocolate eating experience. Check out this recipe which uses chocolate and quinoa! That’s it, just 2 ingredients!
Not really a Halloween Candy, but definitely appropriate for the spirit of fall and Halloween. My Caramel Apple Slices!
