Hi! I’m Rebecca the founder and owner of Train2Function LLC, a certified personal trainer, nutrition coach, group exercise instructor, foodie, and a healthy lifestyle blogger. I have been instructing classes and personal training for over 8 years and absolutely never get bored of it. Motivating others reach their goals and inspiring individuals that they CAN, is my true passion.
Originally going to school with my heart set on physical therapy, I started instructing classes and personal training. I fell in love with the fitness industry and knew from my first class on that this something I’m gifted at, this is what I need to do. I graduated Temple University with a B.S. Kinesiology (exercise-science) and have obtained numerous additional personal training and group exercise certifications since then. I am certified through NASM CPT, AFAA, and Madd Dog Spinning + SPIN POWER.
Daily I am asked the following questions…
- “what should I eat to lose weight?”
- “what should I eat before working out?”
- “How about after?”
- “How do I lose this…” “I’ve been working out for [x] months and I still have this…” (as she grabs her lower abdominal fat, or inner thighs)
- “I don’t want to lose weight, I just want to tone up”
- “I read everything turns to sugar, I can’t eat anything! What do I do?”
- “Dr. Oz said…”
- AND MORE!
My answer is always…portion control, healthy-whole ingredients (eating clean), and committing to a regular dedicated exercise routine.
I understand that it can be difficult to commit to new lifestyle changes, and that’s why I’m here! My mission is to motivate people to live and commit to healthier lives and prove that it does not have to be tedious, yucky, or a painful journey! Through this blog I hope to inspire and motivate you try some quick-n-easy weeknight meals and some 10 minute workout blasts. These small changes will, without a doubt, get you on the road to the new, improved, and healthier YOU!
The expression “No pain, no gain” is NOT something that is written in my book. Nothing should hurt in a bad way. Understanding the difference between muscle soreness/fatigue and a sprain/strain is very important! During each of my classes, and with all of my clients, I stress that if anything is bothersome to let me know. It’s easy enough and well worth my while (and yours) to simply change an exercise/routine that better fits your needs. I am optimistic that through my recipes, workout tips, and lifestyle inspiration, I will motivate YOU to live a healthier, happier, and a more wholesome lifestyle, without compromising taste or well-being.
